Need Japanese yen in cash? Kanda Ticket is a small ticket shop right outside JR Kanda Station in central Tokyo. We buy US dollar and euro banknotes and pay you in Japanese yen, in cash, on the spot.
Small amounts are welcome. No reservation needed.

Our rate follows the market rate of the day, and it includes our commission — there are no extra fees.
Please ask at the counter for today’s rate. The rate of the day is also posted at our window.
How it works — about 1 minute
- Show us your banknotes.
- We show you the rate and the total in yen on a calculator.
- If it is OK, we pay you in yen, in cash.
Our staff speak limited English, so we use a pointing sheet at the counter (English / 中文 / Español / 日本語). You do not need to speak Japanese.

- US dollars: $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 — older designs are also fine.
$100 bills: only those with the blue security ribbon (the current design). - Euros: €5, €10, €20, €50, €100 and €200 — both the first series and the Europa series.
✕ Sorry, we cannot buy
- $100 bills without the blue security ribbon
- €500 notes (no longer issued)
- Coins
- Damaged banknotes: torn, taped, holed, missing a part, written on, stamped, stained or bleached
We do not offer a reduced rate for these notes. It is our store policy. Thank you for your understanding.
Passport
For exchanges of ¥100,000 or more, please show your passport. This is our store policy, based on Japan’s anti-money-laundering rules.
For exchanges over ¥2,000,000 in one transaction, identity verification is required by Japanese law.
Your information is used only for legal compliance.

JR Kanda Station, East Exit — right behind the police box (koban) you see in front of the exit. We are a very small shop under the railway tracks, with a glass showcase facing the street. Look for the yellow sign with two ducks.
